piqlFilm has been tested by e.g. the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) to withstand some of the most extreme conditions, including radiation. As the only storage medium - of many tested, data on the piqlFilm was still accessible and readable after being exposed to total accumulated radiation dose of 890 kGy (890 000 Gy).
