Piql’s innovative digital preservation solution has received an endorsement from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 SME Innovation and Research Program.

We are pleased to announce that we are now the proud recipient of Horizon 2020’s Fast Track to Innovation award.

Reserved only for the best, this grant of €2.7 million will enable us to upscale and commercialise our manufacturing for ultra-secure storage and long-term preservation of digital data while working to mature the production of our eternal data carrier, piqlFilm.

Earlier this year, we also won the support of the EU’s Horizon 2020 program to further develop and commercialise our preservation and secure storage solution—to the tune of €2 million. Founder and Managing Director of Piql, Rune Bjerkestrand, said that the support of the EU has been invaluable.

Such a project is only made possible with our solid and innovative relationships with partner film producers Filmotec and Inoviscoat in Germany, and Boneheadz, an IT and media system integrator in Slovakia.
