BECIL and Piql India join forces
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd (BECIL) to deliver Piql’s digital transformation and preservation services to the Indian market.
BECIL is a Mini Ratna Public Sector Enterprise of the Government of India and provides project consultancy services and turnkey solutions for a range of technologies and services. BECIL is a key service provider and has a huge existing customer base panning all India which includes Government organisations like AAI, NTRO, Prasar Bharti, Ministry of External Affairs, I&B Ministry, HAL, Indian Railways Rashtrapathi Bhavan , BHEL and a lot of Private companies in the Media and Communication domain.
Becil has over 25 years of experience and a wonderful track record of implementing various innovative technical solutions across domains and Geographical regions and is looking forward to and is looking forward to promote Piql solution to its existing and new clients.
Piql, a Norwegian born company, offers an innovative approach to archiving repurposes photosensitive film to be a digital medium. Data is stored using high density QR codes with all information needed to recover the information also stored on the film, making it self-contained and future-proof.
This tried and tested technology can keep data alive for hundreds of years, without the need for migration. The data is secure, unalterable and can be recovered without the risk of data loss, no matter how long it is stored for. It is the only service of its kind and the only offline, migration-free technology available for long term digital preservation.
Piql India was launched last year and has conducted a number of pilot projects with well renowned clients such as the American Institute of Indian Cultural Studies, New Dehli Municipal Council, Delhi High Court Bar Association, and is in various levels of discussions with National Archives, Bikaner Archives, Punjab & Haryana High Court, Ministry of Culture, BHEL , EIL & NTPC among others for implementing the Piql solution in their respective organizations.

Entities and individuals in India will also be able to store their most precious data in the Arctic World Archive a digital data repository managed by Piql Norway in Svalbard in the Arctic Circle where data on Piql Film will remain secured and accessible for centuries to come.
The Association will bring cutting edge digital archiving, digitization, restoration, DMS, retrieval and storage solutions to India along with and best practices for data archiving and digitization prevalent all across the world
